Visit Cathedral Nuestra Senora de la Paz
Our Lady of Peace Cathedral is located in the centre of La Paz in the spot where the original mission was founded by the Jesuits in the eighteenth century. It currently serves as the seat of the La Paz Diocese. Built during the second half of the 19th century, the cathedral displays a neoclassical style on the outside along with two towers and an interior complete with 18th century baroque altars.
Go on a sculpture hunt
Rather than treasure hunting, La Paz is the spot to go sculpture hunting. Dotted throughout the city are original sculptures created by local artisans. It is fascinating to take the time to try to find as many different sculptures as possible, including the Giant Pearl, Dove of Peace, Sirena with Dolphins, Old Man and the Sea, Jacques Cousteau, Jesus and the Seashell, Mermaid and the Dolphin plus the myriad of other sculptures depicting local marine life.
